High-contrast LCD display for best visibilityThe large high-contrast white LED display featured by the new controllers provides exceptional clarity and can be read from a distance and from almost any angle, irrespective of the ambient lighting conditions. This not only maximises convenience for users, but also virtually eliminates the risk of reading errors.
Easy set-up, quick and intuitive operationSetting up the controllers is made easy by the incorporation of auto-tuning algorithms, and by Omron’s new intuitive CX-Thermo support software. This enables faster parameter setting and straightforward device adjustment as well as greatly simplifying maintenance. A time saving shift key is also provided on the controller front panel to allow rapid adjustment of set values, alternatively functions like Auto- Tuning or RUN/STOP could be associated
Excellent control performanceAccurate and responsive control is assured by the fast 50 ms sampling time of the new controllers and by the use of Omron’s 2-PID control algorithm. This powerful and patented algorithm provides enhanced control stability, which guarantees consistent product quality. For less demanding applications, the E5CC/E5EC/E5AC controllers also support simple on/off control.
Useful added functions and featuresTo maximise their versatility, the controllers incorporate a range of new features. These include a timer function, a heat and cool PID function, a set-point ramp function, enhanced alarm mode and enhanced manual output. These features are complemented by a remote set-point input, a transfer output, an event input and an auxiliary output.
Faster input sampling and control periodThis gives faster, more precise heater control in rapidly changing, disturbance-sensitive applications. With a sampling period time of only 50ms any quick changing processes can be reliably regulated.
Process Value blinking displayThis provides crystal-clear process status, even from a distance and without the need for interpreting the values. When one of the heaters is not at set-point the Process Value can start blinking to alert any member of staff (detecting a bad sealing at an early stage, for example).
Loop break alarm and sensor break alarm (with forced MV option)In plastics production the tool used to make the product is changed quite often. Frequent reconnecting of the sensor or heater can result in a wire break (a broken thermocouple, for example). These alarms quickly detect such problems in the process.
Basic (2-step) programmerIn many thermal processes (food, brick, pottery etc.) a small element of timing is required. This feature enables you to ramp up to a set-point and set the dwell time period. At the end of this time, the process stops or continues with an indication alarm to alert the operator. With this feature, a fixed minimum or maximum curing/baking time is assured in a smooth, controlled way. Alternatively you can set different steepness for the ramp-down period, e.g. allowing a soft decrease of temperature to avoid structural cracks of the heat treated object.
Easy to connect, set-up and operateThe E5_C series can be easily connected, set-up and operated in only a few steps using the instrument’s 5 front keys. Our CX-Thermo software and useful navigation assistant for intuitive settings is allowing a very quick parameter setting, easier device adjustment and simpler maintenance.
Push-In Plus Technology brings value to control panelPush-In Plus termination allows E5CC-B and E5EC-B units to be mounted closer together as wire termination direction is coming from the back of the controller rather than the side. This enables panel builders to reduce panel size if needed. This results in greater efficiency from design to assembly, leading to lower internal costs for panel builders, end users and OEMs.
